Happy Friday, friends!

If you’re new around here, I should warn you that I don’t have the best track record with goal setting. My intentions are good, but I tend to struggle with the follow through. But setting aside bad habits is always a difficult thing to do. So I’m keeping my goals short and sweet this month.

BUSINESS

  1. Blog 5 times weekly. If you’ve been reading my posts about monthly goals, you know that I’ve been talking for awhile about blogging consistently. So often, when I’m chatting with potential clients about working together, they’ll ask to se examples of specific types of sessions. It would make it really easy for everyone if I had a place they could find the kind of sessions that interested them. I count it such a privilege to be able to share the stories of the families and weddings that I photograph. I love that even though I focus on those two types of photography, there’s so much that I get to photograph under those umbrellas. I get to capture maternity portraits, birthday sessions, engagement sessions, rehearsal dinners, bridal portraits, newborn sessions, birthday parties, etc. It means that I often get to celebrate several milestones with the same families and watch my clients’ stories develop over the years. I love that a blog will help me create a space to share those stories with all of you. I just need to be consistent about getting these stories out there. :)

PERSONAL

  1. Exercise daily. I’m focusing on this as my personal goal because my weight loss journey has been so cyclical. I know in my head that eating right and working out are essential to getting in shape, but I find that if I try to tackle both out the gate, I end up failing at both and starting over. This time, I’m hoping to focus on being active. Weight loss or not, I always feel better after being consistent in working out. And it’s super frustrating to realize the gains I’ve lost after I slack off. I know this month is going to be rough, but I’m hoping to build up stamina and consistency by putting in work this month. Hopefully, next month, I’ll be ready to add healthier eating habits too.

Maybe focusing on one personal goal and one business goal will help me to set a foundation for consistency. Pray for me y’all! What about you? Do you love a good fresh start too? What kinds of habits are you committing to building this month?
